USF and Georgia Tech Win at Junkanoo Jam

Bimini, Bahamas – Georgia Tech and South Florida won their respective divisions of the 2016 Junkanoo Jam at Gateway Christian Academy, Saturday, in Bimini, Bahamas.

Georgia Tech won both its games in the Freeport Division with wins over Dayton and Missouri. In Saturday’s opening game the Yellow Jackets secured their tournament title with a win over Missouri. Georgia Tech’s Francesca Pan was named the Freeport Division MVP after scoring 40 points over two games and averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.

South Florida’s Kitija Laksa broke the tournament scoring record, picking up MVP honors in the Lucaya Division, as she averaged 34.0 points per game and led the Bulls to the title. USF improved to 4-0 with an 81-65 victory over Georgia for the division title.
